Abstract

|
Chronic pelvic pain, a disease occurred by various causes resulting in a long-term pain within pelvic cavity, is more
often in women than in men and it is a common symptom for women in the most sexually active age group. It
causes stress and disability for women and results overall increase of public health expenditure. There can be a
wide range of different reasons for chronic pelvic pain; it can result from gynecologic, urologic, gastroenterologic,
musculoskeletal, neuropsychiatric problems rather than from a single systemic reason. Since the diagnosis and treatment
of chronic pelvic pain is complicated, multilateral and dimensional approach is necessary and the collaboration
with other clinical departments is required. With a brief literature review, we report a case diagnosed on the cause
of the disease and treated with multidisciplinary approach.
